Speech at the House of Commons

Freshly 18, and at that point, having served the young people of North West Hampshire as their Member of Youth Parliament for 4 years. A Latvian immigrant, living in the UK since 2012, speaking at the Prime Minister’s despatch box. Even writing this is giving me goosebumps again, the same as I felt when I stood up to speak on that day. It felt surreal, and it still feels surreal.

What an absolute honour and privilege it was to speak at the despatch box at the House of Commons in November 2023, leading and introducing the topic of quality of food in our schools, as part of the UK Youth Parliament’s Annual Sitting.
